Madonna, 66, has recently sparked engagement rumors after being seen with a large diamond ring during a New Year’s trip to Tokyo with her boyfriend, former footballer Akeem Morris, 28. The couple, who have been dating for six months, were accompanied by Madonna’s children on the trip.
The ring in question is from the brand Bijules, known for offering bespoke bridal bands among its jewelry. Madonna shared photos on Instagram, prominently displaying the diamond ring on her left hand, further fueling speculation.
A source close to Madonna mentioned that she is “happier than she has been in a long time” and that her relationship with Akeem has been a “real whirlwind,” suggesting that the ring might indeed be an engagement ring.
Madonna has been married twice before: to actor Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989, and to director Guy Ritchie from 2000 to 2008. She met Jamaican-born Akeem Morris during a photoshoot for Paper magazine in August 2022, following her split from dancer Ahlamalik Williams.
As of now, Madonna has not publicly commented on the engagement rumors.
