Keira Knightley, famous for playing Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean, recently shared a surprising detail from her time filming the movie. She revealed that every morning, a makeup artist would spend about 45 minutes painting cleavage onto her chest to enhance her appearance.
Knightley admitted that she didn’t have much of a bust at the time and felt the painted cleavage was a clever trick to make her look fuller.

The process involved using makeup and shading to create the illusion of a more prominent chest. Knightley said she found the technique quite amusing and appreciated the artistry behind it. She also noted that she enjoyed wearing the corsets for her role as they made her stand up straighter, giving her a more elegant posture.

Looking back, Knightley fondly remembered the painted cleavage as one of the more entertaining parts of the costume process, which she found to be quite the experience while bringing her iconic character to life.
