Brazilian football icon Neymar isn’t just known for his magic on the field — he’s also a devoted dad to three children: Davi Lucca, Mavie, and Helena. The football star forward welcomed his first child back in 2011, and as of July 2024, he’s now a father of three.
Despite juggling his intense career with Al Hilal and the Brazilian national team, Neymar makes it a priority to be present in his kids’ lives — a trait his close friend Jimmy Butler described as “incredible.” Speaking to The Guardian earlier this year, Butler said watching Neymar parent is inspiring: “He does so much for them… it’s incredible to watch. And I learn from it.” Here’s a closer look at Neymar’s three children and his life as a proud father.
Eldest Child: Davi Lucca

Neymar became a dad for the first time at just 19 years old when his son, Davi Lucca, was born on August 24, 2011. Davi’s mom is social media influencer Carolina Dantas, who has since had another son, Valentin, with her partner Vinicius Martinez. Even though Neymar and Dantas are no longer together, they’ve remained on good terms. In fact, they were spotted vacationing together with friends and family in Ibiza in 2021. Davi also has a sweet bond with Neymar’s ex, Bruna Biancardi. On his 12th birthday, she called him a “very special boy” and shared her love for him in a touching Instagram Story.
Davi has been by his dad’s side for some of Neymar’s biggest moments. He was on the pitch in 2017 when Neymar lifted the Copa del Rey with Barcelona, and again in 2016 when Brazil claimed Olympic gold in Rio. In 2018, he joined the national squad at their training base in Sochi ahead of the World Cup. And during Neymar’s stint at Paris Saint-Germain, Davi was often seen at the team’s training grounds — the two even enjoyed a family day out at Disneyland Paris with Neymar’s mother, Nadine Gonçalves.
Daughter Mavie

Neymar and Bruna Biancardi welcomed their daughter, Mavie, on October 6, 2023. They shared the happy news in a joint Instagram post, writing, “Our Mavie came to complete our lives. Welcome, daughter! You are already so loved by us.” The name Mavie, they explained, comes from combining the Portuguese words minha and vida — meaning “my life.”
The pair had announced they were expecting earlier that year in April. Just a month after Mavie’s birth, however, Biancardi confirmed the couple had split. “I am not in a relationship,” she wrote on Instagram, “We are Mavie’s parents, and that is the reason for our bond.”
Eqauation With Biancardi

Despite the breakup, both Neymar and Biancardi remain active and loving co-parents. In May 2024, they took Mavie on a trip to Saudi Arabia and each shared sweet family moments online. Neymar posted a photo of him beaming with Mavie in his arms, captioning it, “My sweetheart. Daddy loves you so much.” Around the same time, Biancardi posted a seaside snapshot with Mavie and wrote, “Love of my whole life… Your joy is contagious.”
That same month, Neymar brought Mavie onto the field to celebrate his team’s Saudi Pro League win. Days later, Biancardi brought their daughter to Cannes for the film festival, showing that even at just a few months old, Mavie is already living quite the globe-trotting life.
