Even after two decades since its final episode, “Friends” continues to be a beloved show worldwide. Thanks to streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max, viewers have been able to binge-watch the show, and they’ve noticed some mistakes that went unnoticed during its original run.

One such error was spotted in season eight’s “The One with Rachel’s Date.” Fans noticed a production blunder in season ten’s opener, “The One After Joey and Rachel Kiss.”

A TikTok user, Rilo (@rileysoley), paused the episode when Joey returns home to his apartment and closes the door. On Riley’s TV screen, viewers could see a “literal plot hole” that was probably not intended for the original broadcast. She pointed out a large, square hole cut into the wall on the side of Joey and Chandler’s apartment. The hole was likely there to allow the crew to position equipment while filming scenes inside the apartment. This error is only visible on widescreen TVs.

Riley theorized that the crew may have assumed the hole would be cropped out by the time the show aired on TV. The wider aspect ratio has revealed other humorous moments not originally intended to be seen, as noted by another TikTok user who said they could see Joey covering his mouth laughing in a scene where he was supposed to be off-screen
