Mia Khan, a resident of Sharana in Afghanistan, has captured the admiration of many for his unwavering commitment to his daughters’ education. Every day, he travels 12 kilometers on his motorbike to drop his daughters off at school, then waits outside for hours until their classes are finished.

Khan brings his three daughters to Nooraniya School, which is run by the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan. For him, the education of his daughters holds immense value, despite the fact that he himself is illiterate and lives on a daily wage.
“I may be uneducated, but my daughters’ education means everything to me,” Khan says. “There is no female doctor in our area, and I want my daughters to become educated like my sons, perhaps even as doctors.”

Khan’s dedication has caught the attention of social media, where a Facebook post about his daily routine went viral, earning thousands of ‘likes’ and heartfelt comments of respect.
One commenter expressed their admiration: “Proud of such fathers… He is a hero.” Another simply said, “Much respect!”
