A Virgin Mary statue in Italy, famously known for ‘weeping tears of blood’ has been at the center of controversy and fascination. The statue’s owner, Gisella Cardia, claimed it began crying blood in 2016 and even provided her with prophecies to share with others.

Cardia’s claims drew thousands of visitors to the town of Carmiano, where the statue was displayed. However, the Roman Catholic Church remained skeptical, and a DNA test was conducted to determine the source of the blood.
The test results revealed that the blood matched Cardia’s genetic profile, suggesting that she may have fabricated the miracle. This discovery has sparked a criminal investigation, with prosecutors considering charges against Cardia for potential fraud.
